The Master degree in Advanced Athletic Training is designed to provide students advanced preparation in the field of athletic training. Admitted students must possess an undergraduate degree with specialization in athletic training.
Admission: In addition to The Graduate School’s application requirements, applicants must submit a sample of expository writing to include future goals and specific research interests.
Degree Requirements (33-36 Hours)
General degree requirements for the M.S. degree in Advanced Athletic Training include:

Athletic Training (24 Hours)
Successful completion of 24 graduate hours in athletic training selected from:
Physical Education Pedagogy, Motor Behavior, or Exercise Science Elective (3 Hours)
- Advisor-approved Physical Education Pedagogy, Motor Behavior, or Exercise Science Elective (3 Credit Hours)
- Thesis option is not required to take this elective.
Project or Thesis
- Satisfactory completion of ATEP 798 (project - 3 Credit Hours)
- Satisfactory completion of ATEP 799 (thesis - 3 Credit Hours)
Comprehensive Assessment
Successful completion of a master research project/thesis.
Additional Requirements include 6 Hours in Qualitative/ Quantitative Research Methodology
